Ex Puriton Royal Ordinance factory ‘Barclay’ shunting locomotive no.578 now resides at Washford. An agreement has been reached between the Trust and the WSR PLc for the lone of the shunter by way of allowing covered accommodation for them to paint their other shunter no.579 before its return to duties at Minehead yard.
Artist Kate McStraw has been entertaining audiences throughout Somerset and Dorset with her 'Curator of Memories' performances which tell stories from the glory days of the Somerset & Dorset Railway.

The two S&D 7Fs - 53808 & 53809 - were paired for the outward working of the Trust's annual special train on the West Somerset Railway on Saturday 4th June. On the return journey of the well-filled train, 4F No. 44422 was paired with 53808.
