Our restored S&DJR Coach 4 of 1886 moves into its exhibition space at the Hornby museum, Margate.

Restored S&DRT Coach No. 4 has now been moved to the upper mezzanine floor at the museum being developed at the historic Hornby site in Margate in Kent. To be named the ‘One:One Collection’, our coach is now in the accompany of the beautifully restored LNER ‘Beavertail’ observation car amongst many others. Our loan agreement will see Coach 4 on display for a minimum of five years and will be accompanied by our publicity items to promote the S&D Railway Trust and all of its activities and objectives.

The new exhibition is being completed for an expected launch in the near future. Watch out for further information on the opening in the railway press or on our website. In the meantime, Coach 4 has been cleaned and polished by some volunteers from our friends at Southern Locomotives Ltd. based in Kent. The photographs show the move of the coach by Reid’s Transport and its new position in the upper floor.
