Commemorating the last service train on the S&D
Onto the last service train to leave Evercreech Junction in March 1966, a coffin marked simply 'S&D died today' was loaded. The event was marked at Washford on the Saturday of both gala weekends, and this video shows the procession that took place on 12th March. The train arrived at about 6.10pm and set off afterwards into the sunset, both locomotives issuing copious amounts of steam as though impatient to get going again.Don't forget that we have further commemorative events going on until November – download the program here:https://www.dropbox.com/s/uqllo3dvtdl9w5v/S%26DRT%20commemorative%20events%20v3.pdf?dl=0
