Description

Bulleid West Country Class No. 34041 Wilton (built 1946) stands at Blandford’s Down platform with what is probably a through service while GWR Collett 0-6-0PT No. 4691 (built Swindon 1945) arrives with a short Up local service. 4691 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from January/February 1961 until withdrawal in August/September 1964. the photo was most likely taken in 1961 or 62.

34041 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from May to June 1951 and again from late 1951 until late 1954. Allocated to Bournemouth from 1956 to 1964 and withdrawn in 1966. 4691 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from January/February 1961 until withdrawal in August/September 1964.
