Description

Bulleid West Country Class No. 34043 Combe Martin (built 1946) departs from Blandford station in 1961 with the Pines Express – showing the required reporting number of 1O95. The train, with 12 carriages visible, is just running on to the bridge over the River Stour and today, there is no sign of the former railway close to the river except for the two flood arches on the far side of the river.

Through services over the S&D ceased in September 1962 and 34043 was withdrawn in June 1963.
