Description

BR Standard Class 5 No. 73051 (built 1954, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) heads the 1O93 Sheffield to Bournemouth service through the cutting leading to the twin bores of Chilcompton Tunnel. The cutting was subsequently completely infilled and presents a major obstacle for the S&D at Midsomer Norton, whose running line stops at the foot of the infill, just behind the rear of the train in this photo.

A reporting code disc with 1O93 is being displayed. No date is currently available for this image.

73051 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from new until withdrawal in December 1965.
