Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 75009 (built 1951) and Bulleid West Country Class No. 34045 Ottery St. Mary (built 1946) on a Down through service approaching the Chilcompton Tunnels in 1962 during dull and misty conditions.

75009 is shown as allocated to Templecombe in September/October 1961 until November 1962. 34045 was withdrawn in June 1964.

This section of line has been relaid by the S&D at Midsomer Norton and their one-mile line stops here, just short of the infilled cutting ahead.
