Description

Stanier 5MT Class No. 44917 (built 1945) heads the southbound Pines Express through Cliff cutting with the overbridge just ahead.

No date is available for this image but Mr. Richardson started photographing the S&D in 1956 and 44917 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from early 1952 until mid-1958.

Cliff cutting was infilled in the ’80s and early ’90s but the North Dorset Trailway runs over the top of the infill.
