Description
BR Standard Class 5 No. 73047 (built 1953, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) heads five carriages (plus guards van) on the approach to Cole station with a Down (Templecombe/Bournemouth-bound) passenger service. It is passing over the five-arch Cole viaduct (subsequently demolished). In the background is bridge 118, over the Great Western main line. Just beyond the viaduct beside the Up line is a 45 mph speed limit sign.
Allocation reports vary for 73047 but Hugh Longworth records the loco as being allocated to Bath Green Park from 1955 until July 1964 and withdrawn later in 1964.
