Description

BR Standard Class 9F No. 92245 (built 1958) is seen on a Bradford-Bournemouth service heading out from Combe Down Tunnel into Horsecombe Vale in summer 1962.

The Bradford-Bournemouth reporting code of 1O94 has been chalked directly onto the smokebox door.

92245 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from May/June 1962 until the following September/October and this indicates that the photo was probably taken during the last few months of through service operation over the S&D. Through services were diverted as from September 1962.
