Fowler 4F Class No. 44272 (built 1926, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) heads a Down freight service on the bank at Corfe Mullen during the winter of 1962-63.

44272 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from July/August 1962 until withdrawn in June 1963 and this provides a date range for the photo.
