Description

Bulleid West Country Class No. 34046 Braunton (built 1946, with 71B Bournemouth shedplate) on the Down (Bournemouth-bound) Pines Express on Corfe Mullen bank in 1961.

The Pines Express reporting code of 1O95 is being displayed. Eight carriages can be seen though there would almost certainly be more than that.

This is on the single-track line between Broadstone and Corfe Mullen Junction that was built in the 1880s to avoid the need for S&D traffic to reverse at Wimborne.
