Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 75002 (built 1951, with no shedplate) and Bulleid West Country Class No. 34046 Braunton (built 1946) head the Sheffield portion of the Pines Express at Evercreech Junction. On busy dates through the year, the ‘Sheffield portion’ ran as an independent service, as seen here. It is believed that the date is Saturday 16 September 1961 owing to two other images that were almost certainly taken on the same day – see WSHSD_2022_14_070.

75002 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from September/October 1961 until May/June 1962. 34046 was withdrawn in October 1965.
