Description

Bulleid West Country Class No. 34040 Crewkerne (built 1946, with 71B Bournemouth shedplate) takes a train under the Hammoon road bridge with an Up passenger service, probably in 1959.

34040 is shown as allocated to Bournemouth in 1951-52 and from 1956 until withdrawn in 1967.

The bridge has been demolished but the photographer’s location is now part of the North Dorset Trailway.
