Description

Johnson 3F Class No. 43248 (built 1902, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) takes an Up goods service of nine vehicles plus brake van towards Sturminster Newton. The train has just passed under the Hammoon road bridge.

The bridge has been demolished but the trackbed is now part of the North Dorset Trailway.

43248 is shown as already allocated to Templecombe upon nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in August 1959. The shedplate indicates that the photo was taken after the recoding to 82G in February 1958.
