Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 76015 (built 1953, with 71A Eastleigh shedplate) is pictured on a four-carriage Up local passenger service that has just passed under the Hammoon road bridge on the way to Sturminster Newton. The consist appears to be a three-car set with an extra carriage of different design inserted, plus a van on the rear.

The bridge has been demolished but the photographer’s location is now part of the North Dorset Trailway.

76015 was first allocated to Eastleigh, then Bournemouth from June 1961 and withdrawn in September/October 1965.
