Description
Ivo talking to the Trust’s Peter Foster in 1979/80.
In the recording, Ivo starts at Bath and the subject material moves along the line. Through Midford, Radstock and Midsomer Norton South and from Evercreech Junction, on to Glastonbury and Highbridge. Added are brief recollections of the Bridgwater and Wells branches.
Returning to the main line, Ivo talks about his experience of travelling on the footplate of the 9Fs on the fast running south of Blandford and there’s a description of the unusual workings at Bailey Gate before we then carry on our way to Bournemouth West.
At the end of the Trust’s recording, we have included a BBC 1987 recording. This is of Ivo in his flat in the Royal Crescent in Bath listening for the whistle of 53809 whilst the preserved locomotive was passing through Bath.
Recording length 90 minutes. File type: M4A. File size: 85Mb.
