Description

Fowler 2P Class No. 40697 (built 1932, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) and Bulleid West Country Class No. 34043 Combe Martin (built 1946) head an eight carriage Up passenger service over Thrupe Lane, south of Masbury. The Masbury Up Distant signal can be seen behind the train and is ‘off’.

40697 is shown as already allocated to Bath Green Park upon nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in February 1962. 34043 was withdrawn in June 1963.
