Description

LMS Stanier 8F No. 48706 leaves Midsomer Norton South on a coal train headed for Bath. To the right is the siding into Norton Hill Colliery and (in the full res. image) can be seen the rodding from the signal box to the gate lock (see WSHSD_2023_94_16). However, by the time of this photo, the gate across the siding had been removed. Taken at 10.35 am on Monday 11 October 1965.
