Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 75027 (built 1954, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) and Bulleid West Country Class No. 34047 Callington (built 1946) haul the 11-car 1O97 10.30 am Liverpool/10.55 am Manchester to Bournemouth service through Midsomer Norton South.

The rectangular reporting code board covers 75027’s number. In the adjacent garden is a footplateman’s tea can.

75027 is shown as being allocated to Templecombe from February 1960 to November 1962; this suggests a date range for the photo which appears to have been taken in summer. 34047 is shown as allocated to Bournemouth from May/June 1959 until withdrawal in June 1967. 75027 was subsequently preserved.
