Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 76058 (built 1955, with 71A Eastleigh shedplate) takes a seven-car Up passenger service past Poole Park and towards the Whitecliff Road overbridge, just visible. This is between Poole and Parkstone Stations.

76058 is shown as allocated to Eastleigh from November to December 1959 and from February 1962 until June 1966. Recoded to 70D in September 1963. The photo was probably taken in spring 1963.

Today, the background to this image has changed just as much as the motive power with extensive reclamation to form Baiter Park.
