Description

Fowler 2P Class No. 40564 (built 1928) – with 82G (Templecombe) shedplate – heads BR Standard Class 5 No. 73047 (built 1953) in dull conditions on the northbound Pines Express at Shepton Mallet (Charlton Road) station.

Allocation reports vary for 73047 but the loco is shown as being withdrawn in 1964. 40564 is shown as already allocated to Templecombe upon nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in February 1962.
