Description
Bulleid West Country Class No. 34041 Wilton (built 1946) stands in the passing loop at Shillingstone with the Down Pines Express relief to allow BR Standard Class 9F No. 92000 (built 1954) to pass by with the 3.40 pm Bournemouth to Bath in 1961. The Pines relief – which started in Sheffield – was running late; the two trains should have passed at Blandford.
