Description

Ivatt 2MT Class No. 41248 (built 1949) stands in the Up platform at Shillingstone – with the signal box and porter’s room visible beyond – while BR 4MT class 4-6-0 locomotive No. 75072 (built 1955) runs in with the 4.48 pm Templecombe-Bournemouth on 8 September 1960.

41248 is shown as allocated to Templecombe from June/July 1953 until November/December 1960. Withdrawn in November 1964. 75072 is shown as being withdrawn in April 1966.
