Description

Stanier 5MT Class No. 44859 (built Crewe 1944, with 21A Saltley shedplate) heads up the distinctive gradient out of Shillingstone with a 10-car service (almost certainly a through service for the north) in 1959.

44859 is shown as allocated to Saltley (21A) from 1954 until 1964 (recoded in 1963) and withdrawn in 1967.
