Description

Stanier 5MT Class No. 44888 (built 1945) heads up the distinctive gradient outside Shillingstone station with a 10-car Up passenger service.

44888 is shown as allocated to Saltley (21A) from September 1959 until May 1963. Given the 35 mm negative, this photo was probably taken in 1959.
