Description

Fowler S&D 7F No. 53809 (built 1925 as S&D No. 89, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) is pictured heading south-east from Shillingstone with a Down Saturdays-only service (though the photographer did not record which one) in 1959. The end of the Down Siding East is visible.

53809 is shown as already allocated to Bath Green Park at the time of nationalisation in 1948 and remaining there until withdrawal in May/June 1964.
53809 was subsequently preserved.
