Description

BR Standard Class 5 No. 73049 (built 1953, with 82F Bath Green Park shedplate) stands at the Up platform at Shillingstone with an Up passenger/milk service from Bailey Gate. The Down Home signal is ‘off’ in readiness for a train arriving on the single track from Sturminster Newton. It is believed that the photo was taken in 1959, although not explicitly stated by the photographer.

73049 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from 1955-1960 and from June/July 1962 until August-October 1964.
