Description

BR Standard Class 5 No. 73052 (built 1954) accelerates away from Shillingstone with an Up Pines Express of around 10 carriages. The gradient of the line is very apparent in this view and the photographer noted that the regulator of the loco was ‘wide open’.

73052 is shown as allocated to Bath Green Park from new until withdrawal in December 1964/January 1965.
