Description
During the 1980s, the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust published a trilogy of specialist monographs relating to the Somerset & Dorset line. The third of these, entitled Southbound with the ‘Pines’, comprised a collection of footplate memories by Donald Beale and was published in 1985. With requests still being received for this long out-of-print title, the S&DRT decided the time had come to issue a new edition, which includes – for the most part – different photographs to accompany Donald’s original and inimitable text, including many by Ivo Peters.
