Description

Western Region 0-6-0PT No. 4691 (allocated to 82G Templecombe from February 1961) heads a freight service from Blandford to Templecombe where sister engine No. 3795 (built 1938, with 82E Bristol Barrow Road shedplate) is waiting to be attached to the rear to pull the train up to the Upper Yard. Note Templecombe No.2 Junction signal box in the middle distance.

The photo was taken while 3795 was allocated to Bristol Barrow Road; this is shown as being from from August to November 1961 and from January 1962 until withdrawal in May 1963. 3795 was indeed allocated to Templecombe for two periods; shown as being from February to April 1961 and from November 1961 to January 1962.
