Description

Ex-L&SWR Urie S15 class 4-6-0 locomotive No. 30496 (with 70B Feltham shedplate) on the 5.05pm Southampton to Wimborne passenger service, leading carriage set no. 836 (recorded by Southern Railway Email Group as B-set BSK no. 3983, SK no. 127, CK no. 5854, SK, no. 128 & BSK no. 3984), with SR headcode no. 6 (Southampton & Fawley/Bournemouth Central & Brockenhurst via Wimborne) passing Gas Works Junction on the approach to Branksome. Thursday 19 July 1962.

The signals visible (for the diverging line) are those for the Branksome Triangle east chord, the points of which the train is just passing over.
