Description

BR Standard Class 4 No. 75009 (built 1951, with 82G Templecombe shedplate) and an unidentified Class 9F locomotive are seen passing Wellow station with an Up through service. The reporting number of 1O95 has been chalked onto the smokebox door of 75009 but may not be current as it can be seen again, much more weathered, in WSHSD_2022_14_045. Eight carriages can be seen, though this service would normally have a few more than that.

75009 is shown as allocated to Templecombe in September/October 1961 until November 1962. The chalked-on reporting number provides a date indictaion for the photo, owing to the narrow date range available on WSHSD_2022_14_045.
