Description

BR Standard Class 9F No. 92245 (built 1958) heads a Down passenger service of unknown number of carriages, though probably a through service, past the 5¾ milepost about one mile before Wellow station. Well-known S&D driver Donald Beale can be seen looking out from the cab window. 30 June 1962.

Fireman Peter Smith has obliged the photographer with his request for black smoke, something that was rarely seen coming from a 9F!
