The overhaul on the Trust’s Peckett ‘Kilmersdon’ is continuing at Ropley. The first photo – by Mark Drinkwater, Works Foreman – shows the frames with the newly-retyred wheels underneath.
The other photos, by Roger Hardingham, show some recent work with the boiler being moved around the yard having had new plates welded on to the bottom of the outer wrapper. Also pictured are new buffer extensions which will enable the engine to be more flexible in the rolling stock that it can haul.
