Glastonbury & Street station sign on the move to Westonzoyland

In early July we hired a van and removed many of our artefacts from Alresford on the MHR – Watercress Line, including station signs from the southern half of the S&D and the Highbridge branch. These will soon be displayed at the Westonzoyland Pumping Station Museum near Bridgwater, the location close to the S&D where our Peat Railway items are on display.

Our thanks must go to Rob Bentley, our Heritage Director, his brother Andrew and also Paul Kemp, who kindly gave their valuable time to complete the task over three days. The van was used on its return journey to collect our wooden patterns from Minehead. These were the ones our trust purchased for the casting of two new cylinders for our 7F 53808 some years ago. These are now safely stored at Ropley on the MHR.
